Description
The main FuG25a Radio System, which allowed for air-to-air communication, as well as air-to-ground. Working like a modern IFF (Identification Friend or Foe), it was equipped in most late-war German aircraft. Working on the same frequency as the main radios, it sent a signal allowing radar stations and other aircraft to differentiate between friendly and enemy aircraft/formations. It had limits unfortunately, and could only be used in close-vicinity.
Made of aluminum, bakelite, and steel, this VD25 is in AMAZING UNUSED condition! It retains 95% original RLM66 paint, as well as the data label, that clearly indicates the manufacutre and part number. NO breaks, bends, or damage! Some slight corrosion from storage, but nothing that detracts. Appears to be 100% complete internally, however I have not tested it for function. This unit is located at the top of the main rack in the last photo. A VERY RARE item, it would make a PERFECT addition to any radio collection or aircraft restoration
