You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 United States Army M4A3 Sherman Tank Main Data Plate! This type of plate was used in almost all Tanks, Tank Destroyers, and Armored Vehicles.
Made of steel, this item is in EXCELLENT used condition! There are some slight marks, scratches, wear, and surface corrosion, however, it is still VERY SOLID otherwise! All data information is present, but it will need further cleaning to reveal all information (I only cleaned it up slightly for the listing). Still retains traces of the original white interior paint on the reverse. Though I do not have any history, this belonged to an M4A3, serial 62179, that was produced in 1944. I have indicated its location in the last photo. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
