Description
Pilots and flight personnel used this device to accurately plot the flight path to their destination. It would aid in the calculation of time, speed, distance, airspeed, pressures, densities and temperature. Strapped to the pilot’s leg, the Dive Bomber computer was limited to calculating Ground Speed & Drift, as well as Search & Intercept Problems. Made of a lightweight aluminum alloy, this Dive Bomber Flight Computer is in EXCELLENT condition! The user would strap this calculator onto his thigh, just above the knee for easy access. Though it does feature some marks and wear, it is still VERY solid! The top features a basic aluminum disc marked with grids. N, S, E. and W are marked in red, as well as an outline of an airplane (cooresponds to the longitudinal axis). All other markings are in black. The lower portion was used to solve wind problems as well as interception and rendezvous issues. The straps are 100% intact, and still feature the original buckles, AS WELL as some of the elasticity (Japanese straps usually lose all elasticity over time)! Also retains the original data label, indicating “Dive Bomber”, and features the Japanese Navy Inspection stamps and anchor (faint). Comes compelte in the original box! These are almost never found on the market today, and like most Japanese items is an EXTREMELY RARE item, perfect for any collection or display! |
