Description
Made of an early Field Grey canvas, this bread bag is in EXCELLENT used condition! Some slight marks and wear, but NO holes, tears, or damage! All fittings are in place, including all button! The belt loops feature leather reinforcements, and the aluminum D-rings can be seen at the front, that are used to hold the Field bottle (and Mess tin). Normally the Field bottle was attached on the right, while the Mess tin was attached to the left. Underneath the D-rings, the leather tabs are visible which were used to secure the Field bottle and Mess tin’s strap to prevent these items to bounce when a soldier was running. On the back side, two smaller D-rings are fitted for the bread bag shoulder strap. It is name TWICE, with a stitched label for the prior owner, indicating, “Herm. Lutzmann“, as well as a hand-written, “Reinke“. Some slight staining, but EASILY one of the nicest I have ever seen of this type! Though it is hard to see in the listing photos, it has a manufacture ink stamp, with a CLEAR date of 1934 on the center strap. Would make for a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
