Description
When the pilot turned the UV lights turned on at night, they directed UV light towards the cockpit instruments. This caused a reaction within the Dials and as a result, the dials and guages glowed. It was used in the Me109, Fw190, Me262, and other fighters and destroyers.
Made of aluminum and steel by Siemens, this item dates mid-war around 1943-1944. Much of the original finish remains, however there is some slight wear and marks due to the age. The Fl. number can be seen on the side, indicating, Fl. 32266; and it comes complete with the original cap, Fl. 32253-3. I have indicated a similar type located in the Me109 Cockpit in the last photo. A VERY RARE item, EXCELLENT for any collection or display!
