Description
The KG13 A was mounted directly between the pilots legs, and gave him control of the aircraft, weapons (MG, Cannon, Bombs, and Radio). Most aircraft control grips after WW2 were based on this German design.
Made of steel, aluminum, and bakelite, this grip would have been manufactured between 1944 and 1945. Removed from a wrecked late-war Me109 (probably an Me109 G10), it has some slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts! All buttons are 100% functional and are original to this grip. All wiring is complete, as well as the data plate. A very clear “V23” is painted onto the terminal box cover – clearly identifying this as originating from a Me109 Fighter (all codes were specific to each aircraft). The bomb release button also has a corresponding, “R24” electrical code. Some of the buttons are a bit sticky when pressing, but that is normal for the age (and easy to rectify). Completely untouched since being pulled from an aircraft by a US Serviceman, it is an INCREDIBLE piece of history! Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
