WW II German Aircraft Antennenmast – ANTENNA MAST – FuG 16 – Me109 G / K- RARE!

Out of stock

You are bidding on a GORGEOUS example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe FuG Antennenmast (Radio Antenna Mast), 009.174-004 H 002, as used in conjunction with the FuG16 Radio systems!  This type of antenna was ONLY used on the late-war Me109 G-K fighter aircraft.  This specific one was recovered by a US Veteran pilot who was a member of the 9th USAAF, 449th BS, 322nd BG (M)F.

The FuG Antenna connected directly to the FuG16 Radio Sending Unit.  This allowed for air-to-air communication, as well as air-to-ground.

Made of wood, aluminum, and steel, this LATE-WAR style Antenna Mast is in AMAZING used condition!  There are some very slight marks, however it is VERY solid, retaining 95% of it’s original camouflage paint!  Paint consists of RLM76; LATE-WAR RLM76; and RLM82/83!  There is a tiny bit of corrosion on the base, but this is normal due to the material.  The hook that held the cable antenna is broken at the top…but this could be rectified by the winning bidder.  It is mounted to piece of steel, which is from the same aircraft (appears to be a section of armour plating…or possibly the original modified mout).  This type is EXCEEDINGLY RARE, and is the ONLY ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN!  This is the LAST variant used, before they got rid of the antenna altogether in early 1945, and simply bolted the cable to the fuselage.  The earlier all aluminum variant does come up every once in a while, but this LATE type…made of steel and wood…NEVER survived.  Occasionally the steel bases show up in relic conation…but never the mast.  Most likely from a late Me109 G10/G14 or early Me109K-4.  Could EASILY be used again in an airworthy project, or leave as is for display purposes!  I have shown the location in the Me109 G and K in the last photos.  Would make a VERY RARE and FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
