Description
Made of aluminum and steel, this Parallel-Getriebe and Flexible-Drive Assembly Cable are in VERY GOOD used condition! The central distributor gearbox and mounting structure are aluminum, while both flexible armored drive shafts and associated fittings are steel. The assembly is 100% ORIGINAL wartime manufacture and remains exceptionally complete, including BOTH original flexible shafts and their original end fittings. Mechanically the unit remains fully functional: the input turns freely and correctly transmits rotation through the gearbox to BOTH output drives as designed. The mechanism still retains traces of its original grease, along with accumulated dirt, oil staining, and residue consistent with having been installed and operated in an aircraft engine installation. Traces of the original painted finish remain on the gearbox and mounting structure. There are NO cracks, breaks, seized components, or repairs. The circular mounting flange does show some minor dents and distortion from use or removal, however this could be readily straightened and corrected if desired. The flexible shafts remain intact and usable, with their armored coverings and fittings still present. The assembly would benefit from careful cleaning but has deliberately been left in its original as-found condition. An EXTREMELY RARE and mechanically complete Luftwaffe instrument-drive assembly, and an outstanding component for an advanced German aircraft restoration, trainer cockpit, instrument display, or aviation collection!
