Description
The Me109 F incorporated a manually operated Kühlerabschaltung system allowing the pilot to control the coolant shutoff arrangement through a cockpit-mounted cable and lever mechanism. In the original Messerschmitt Ersatzteilliste, this installation is shown under Baugruppe 109.816, Kühlerabschaltung im Rumpf. The control cable, lever, spring, mounting hardware, and supporting brackets formed a compact mechanical system installed along the cockpit sidewall, allowing the pilot to actuate the coolant shutoff mechanism from inside the cockpit. This particular bracket is specific to the Me109 F installation and supported the left-side control assembly.
Made of aircraft-grade aluminum, this original Me109 F bracket is in EXCELLENT New Old Stock condition! It has NEVER been installed or used and retains much of its original RLM66 gray protective finish, with only light scratches, small paint losses, and minor storage marks from age. There are NO bends, cracks, repairs, corrosion or damage! Period installation drawings show this exact bracket mounted on the cockpit sidewall supporting the cooler shutoff control mechanism. Everything present is 100% ORIGINAL wartime German manufacture. I have shown its location in the last photo. An EXTREMELY RARE unused Me109 F cockpit-control component and an excellent restoration or reference piece for any advanced Luftwaffe or Messerschmitt collection!
