Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Festantenne Mounting Bracket, as used in conjunction with the FuG16ZY Radio Antenna. Though this mount is specific to the Me109, this radio system was used on many late-war Fighters and bombers such as the Me109, Fw190, Ju88 Me262, Me-163, He162 and other German aircraft!
The AAG16a connected directly to the FuG16 Antenna Mast. Both were part of the main FuG16ZY Radio System, which allowed for air-to-air communication, as well as air-to-ground.
Made of aluminum and steel, and originating from a large quantity found at the Erla Messerschmitt Factory remains, this Cable Antenna Mount is in EXCELLENT relic condition. There are no breaks or damage, however it does have some bends and a bit of corrosion. Still features MUCH of its original RLM75 camouflage paint. This type was specific to the late Me109 G-10 and K-4 with the wood tails. I have indicated it’s position on the Me109 tail in the last photos. A VERY RARE and FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
