Description
Made of solid steel, bakelite, and brass, and aluminum, this phone is in AMAZING used condition! The steel main door in secured tightly with triangular bolts, and when when open, reveals all the internal electrical components, which remain in near MINT condition! No manufacture markings that I can see. The veteran added a post-war phone cord in an attempt to power it up (see last photo), but I have since removed it. Features the original insulated cord, leading to the main handset (earphone and mouthpiece), as well as secondary connections for another earpiece. No cracks or damage to any of the cords. but numerous marks and scratches throughout, due to the age. Rubber on both handsets are torn/cracking. Everything is 100% ORIGINAL to this phone. and it remains in un-restored condition, retaining it’s authentic WW2 look and feel! One of the nicest and MOST COMPLETE Shipboard phones I have ever seen, it weighs approximately 35 lbs. A PERFECT item for any collection or display!
