WW2 German Kriegsmarine Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen – Destroyer War Badge – NICE!

1 in stock

You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Kriegsmarine Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen (Destroyer War Badge)!

The Destroyer War Badge was instituted on June 4, 1940, and awarded to destroyer crew members who had participated in the naval battle for Narvik, Norway.  Regulations of October 1940 extended bestowal of the Destroyer War Badge to include other destroyer, torpedo, and E-boat personnel involved in other naval battles who met a preset criteria.

Made of zinc, this badge is in VERY NICE condition.  It features a vertical oval oak leaf wreath and national eagle.  The eagle clutches a swastika.  In the center is a side image of a destroyer cruising through the water.  Original pin and catch are complete.  Though some of the original gold coloring has faded over time, it is still a NICE example.  Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
