Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Wehrmacht Nahkampfspange im Bronze (Close Combat Clasp in Bronze)!
The Close Combat Clasp was introduced on November 25, 1942, and presented to personnel who fought in hand-to-hand combat situations unsupported by armor. The Clasp came in three grades (Bronze, Silver and Gold) with each grade signifying more days spent in hand-to-hand or close combat.
Made of zinc by “JFS” (Josef Feix und Sohn, Gablonz), this badge is in EXCELLENT condition! It features a national eagle with out-stretched wings, above a crossed bayonet and grenade. Four oak-leaves and dual acorns are superimpose. A central square panel with a recessed background is directly center behind the eagle/bayonet motif. Along with the manufacture logo, the reverse features the prominent designers name and location (Fec. W. E. Peekhaus Berlin). Some very minor marks and scratches, but nothing that detracts. Original pin and catch are complete. EASILY one of the nicest I have seen…all details are VERY sharp!!! Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
