Description
This is a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a 100% INERT WW1 / WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy 47mm AP Round, as in conjunction with the QF-3 Pounder “Hotchkiss” Type Naval Cannon! Known as Yamanouchi guns, they were almost identical to the British equivalent. Used on various Battleships and Cruisers.
Made of brass and steel, this is a FANTASTIC piece of history! Completely inert, there are some very slight wear and marks, however it remains VERY SOLID with much of the original paint and finish! The brass case features a prominent Navy anchor, as well as some manufacture markings. The round itself has a Hotchkiss primer, so I am not sure if the round is Japanese. EASILY one of the nicest I have owned, with various marking throughout.
Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
