WW1 German Taschenuhr – FACTORY POCKET WATCH AWARD – HINRICHS – PUBLISHED!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a WW1 German Bundesheer Issue Pocket Watch! This EXACT watch is featured in Dr. Konrad Knirim’s, “Military Timepieces” book.

Made of a .800 Silver casing with 14K gold plated bezel, this Presentation Pocket Watch is in EXCELLENT functioning condition! Though the crystal shows some light scratches, the dial and hands are in NEAR MINT condition, with NO damage or corrosion! Note that because I use a camera flash, the scratches show up more pronounced than they actually are in person. Manufactured by Gustav Hinrichs, there is a SUPERB Imperial Crown emblem on the back, along with a “W” monogram for Wilhelm II. The interior features an inscription, indicating, “FÜR JÄHRIGE TREUE DIENSTE – KGL. FEUERW. LABORAT. SPANDAU. 1911 (FOR YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICES ROYAL FIRE DEFENCE SERVICES SPANDAU. 1911). Interior has a portrait of the Emperor, and the original owners name (though scratched out). As it is in used condition, the case does show some signs of wear (scratches, marks, patina), but it is in otherwise VERY NICE condition for its age. Though it is 100% functional, the movement has not been serviced in 30 years, so I would suggest getting it cleaned for daily use.  A VERY RARE piece of history, it would make for a VERY NICE addition to any collection, or display!
