Description
Made of a brass with a nickel-plated case, this Austrian-made Franz Watzl Aircraft Clock is in EXCELLENT functioning condition, and is featured on page 124 of Dr. Konrad Knirim’s, “Military Timepieces” book. Though the crystal shows some light scratches, the dial and hands are in VERY NICE condition, with NO major damage or corrosion (some hairline cracks)! Note that because I use a camera flash, the scratches show more pronounced than they actually are in person. The manufacture name is clearly marked on the face, and was manufactured in 1909. Also features a prominent “Albatros Flugzeugwerk” stamped onto the top. Being in used condition, the case does show some signs of wear (scratches, marks, patina), but it is in otherwise VERY NICE condition for its age. Comes complete with the mount for securing to the instrument panel. Though it is 100% FUNCTIONAL, the movement has not been serviced in 30 years, I would suggest getting it cleaned for daily use. A VERY nice and original item for any collection, or display!
