You are bidding on an EXCELLENT example of a WW2 USAAF / US Navy Type AN-H-15 Flight Helmet! This SPECIFIC item comes complete with the original Earphone and Lip Microphone!
The AN-H-15 helmet was introduced as the standard summer or light weight for the Army Air Force and Navy on April 23, 1943. It served as the replacement for the Type A-9 flying helmet. It was the first flying helmet designed under the joint Army/Navy procurement program.

Made of a tan khaki cotton material by the Bates SHoe Company, this flight helmet is in VERY NICE condition for its age! No rips or tears, but it does have one slight stain on the top (appear to scrap away, so it could be cleaned up). Features an Army Air Forces stamp, however, it was obviously used by the Navy, as there are Navy stamps on the Lip Microphone. Some slight wear and rust to the metal fittings, but nothing that detracts. Earphone are also complete, and marked ANB-H-1. Lip Mic is similar to the T-45 model, but adapted for use on a flight helmet only It is marked, CW-10312. Probably dating around 1944, it includes the chin strap, which allowed for secure fitting. All adjustments work as they should. It is marked as a MEDIUM size, but fits small. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
