WW1 Imperial Prussian Army Pickelhaube M1915 – EM/NCO PICKELHAUBE & LINER – NICE

Out of stock

You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW1 Imperial Prussian Army M1915 EM/NCO Infantry Pickelhaube!

Development of the pickelhaube can be traced back to the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, who initiated the original design and introduced it for wear by most of the Prussian line Infantry regiments on October 23, 1842.

It became a visual symbol of Prussia’s military might and underwent numerous modifications until 1915.

Due to the increased number of head wounds suffered by the German troops (grenades and shell fragments), the pickelhaube became obsolete, and was replaced with a steel helmet shell in 1916. After the introduction of the M1916 helmet the pickelhaube was relegated for wear only on ceremonial occasions.

Made of leather, brass, and aluminum, this M1915 Army Infantry Pickelhaube is in VERY GOOD used condition!  It retains MUCH of it’s original paint and finish, with some slight scratches, wear, and marks, due to the age.  Both the liner and chin strap are original to this helmet, and also show wear (fragile in some palces).  Both visors are intact.  The front eagle sits a bit loose due to the age, but that is an easy fix.  A PERFECT item for any collection or display!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
