Description
This Army Sextant was used by the navigator to create an artificial horizon and thus help achieve accurate bearings. Made by Bendix of aluminum and steel, this Octant is in VERY GOOD & FUNCTIONING condition! Dated 1942, there are some slight marks and scratches, but nothing that takes away from the overall appearance. It appears to be complete, and all knobs and adjustments work as they should. The view is a bit dirty, but the bubble is still present and expands with the adjuster. Rubber eye cup is present, but it has been torn off (would need to be replaced). Comes complete in the original matching number box! 100% mechanically functional, but I have not tested it electrically. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, or display! |
