You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Prazisions Barometer (Precision Barometer)!  This was used on Airfields, Weather Stations, as well as with FlaK/Artillery Units!

A barometer is a scientific instrument used in meteorology to measure atmospheric pressure. Pressure tendency can forecast short term changes in the weather. Numerous measurements of air pressure are used within surface weather analysis to help find surface troughs, high pressure systems and frontal boundaries.

This specific item was used to measure air pressure fluctuation /current air pressure on airfields; as well as in assisting FlaK and Artillery units to accurately calculate ranges.  Markings indicate:

630 – 1060 mb (millibar)

630 – 800 mm (mm / W, mm mercury column)

-0.4 – 1.6 Hohe (Altitude)

Made of brass and aluminum, by R. Fuess, Berlin, this piece is of late-war manufacture.  Though it has some marks, scratches, and wear due to the age, it still retains 95% of its original finish!  All data information is printed on the dial, indicating type, manufacture, and production number.  No corrosion, and is 100% FUNCTIONAL (though I am not sure how accurate).  It features a Luftwaffe BA inspection stamp on the side.  A few scratches on the glass (one appears to have been etched in purposefully).  Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
