Description
You are bidding on a SUPER RARE 100% original WW2 Soviet VVS Aircraft Camouflage Fabric Skin! Recovered by a German Aircraft Mechanic who served on the Eastern Front, this was cut from an aircraft on a captured airfield.
Made of lightweight fabric, this section is in AMAZING condition, and 95% of the ORIGINAL Black-Green/Green Camouflage Paint remains! Camouflage colors and disruptive pattern date this between 1941 and 1943. A mentioned, this was removed from a German Aircraft Mechanic who served on the Eastern Front. Original WW2 German aircraft fabric is EXTREMELY rare as it usually burned up or rotted away over time. Measuring a LARGE 36″ x 40″ in size, there are some slight wear, tears, and marks, due to the age. The rib pattern on the reverse indicate that this is most likely from a large rudder, flap, or other control surface. Not sure of the aircraft type it was removed from, but most likely from an I15, I-153, IL-2, Il-4, Pe-2, Pe-8, or Su-2. A SUPERB piece of history, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display! Please note that the shipping cost listed is based on the fabric being ROLLED. Due to the fragility of the fabric, the winning bidder may want to have it sent flat, which would be an additional expense. |
