Description
Made of aluminum and steel, this piece is of early manufacture, and was removed from a downed Japanese aircraft by a US Serviceman during the war. It features a Type 2 Aluminum Data Plate, indicating the type and manufacture. The Japanese characters indicate a prodution date of December 1939. It retains 90% of it’s original paint and finish, and the markings still glow when UV light is applied! The locking mechanism still functions perfectly! Some slight scratches and corrosion due to the age, but still an EXCELLENT example! Smaller in size than the standard horizon, I have indicated the exact Navy equivalent in the last photo. Could be used to complete a Navy A6M Zero instrument panel, as the size is the same.
