Description
The Pak 36 (Panzerabwehrkanone 36) was a German anti-tank gun that fired a 3.7 cm calibre shell. It was the main anti-tank weapon of Wehrmacht infantry units until mid-1941. It was followed in this role by the 5 cm Pak 38 gun. They were easy to maneuver and could be moved and operated by two men. They were first used in the Spanish Civil War, and then widely used early in WW2.
The Z.F. 1×11, was in-fact a 1.5x magnification scope (not 1x as the name would suggest), with a 11 degree field of view. In order to correctly use this scope, the gunner would keep BOTH eyes open (not the 2nd one closed), so the two eye-views merged with one another. The scope looked through a hole in the gunshield that was roughly 4 inches wide, and the sight was mounted at the notch-center and slightly raised so that the view around the sight was unobstructed for both eyes for approx. 330 degrees
