WW II German Navy Filtermundstück – EMERGENCY GAS MASK BREATHER FITTING – NICE!

You are bidding in VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Kriegsmarine Filtermundstuck (Emergency Gas Mask Breather), as used by various U-Boat and Ship Crews!

With the development of poisonous gases used as offensive weapons throughout WW1, appropriate defensive gasmasks had to be developed.  The early M1915 and 1917 gas masks evolved into the M24, and eventually into the M30 and M38 versions.

All German Army and Airforce personnel were issued a gas mask, carry canister and accessories, and were required to have them ready at all times.

Made of Rubber, this Emergency Gas Mask Breather is in EXCELLENT used condition!  Some slight marks and wear, but NO cracks or damage! Features a clear part number internally. The rubber has hardened over time, but it could be softened up with a bit of heat. I have shown how it was used in the last image.  A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
