WW2 German Waffen Elite Italian Camouflage Winter Anorak – COMBAT WORN – NICE!

Out of stock

You are bidding on a FANTASTIC and 100% ORIGINAL example of a WW2 German Waffen Elite Italian Camouflage Winter Anorak!

In December 1940, personnel stationed in Norway evaluated temporarily-issued winter clothing, with the
anticipation of the invasion or Russia.  After various alterations and further tests, the first fur-lined Anorak
was produced in January 1943.  Designed as a one-piece pull-over, it was not well-liked, due to lack of ventilation.  In early 1944, a new version was designed with a front closure.  Due to the amount of camouflage stock acquired from Italy in 1943, the German military began
manufacturing these Anoraks from Italian camouflage, which were issued specifically to the Elite units.

Made of a water-resistant, 3/4 length cotton, this fur lined Winter Anorak is in VERY NICE combat-used condition!  Made of Italian camouflage consisting of browns and greens, it features a front button closure (1944 pattern), as well as an attached hood and large hip and breast pockets.  There is a central elastic at the waist, as well as storm cuffs.  All buttons are still attached, however as this was used in combat, there are many field repairs, replaced sections of camouflage…as well as some wear, tears, and stains due to the age.  Tie string for the hood is still present.  As these were deigned to fit over the standard uniform, it does fit big.  I suspect this would be considered a large size (40″chest or so).  A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
