Description

You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German 7×50 Kriegsmarine UBoat Commander Binocular!  Used on U-Boats and other surface vessels, these were captured at the end of the war.

The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 8×60 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service.  This specific binocular was used by the U-Boat commander.

Made of aluminum, brass and steel, by “blc” (Carl Zeiss Militarabteilung, Jena), these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition!  The optics are CLEAR and SHARP with NO major spotting…however they are a bit hazy, as shown in the photo.  The optical alignment is also very good!

The right side is body marked 7×50, the 3-digit code of “blc” , and the serial number, “56452“.  Though not marked as such, the optics are coated.  Missing the original strap and rain shield, but those are easy to replace.  Someone has stripped the paint off the outer body, probably as they were in the process of being restored.  Still retain the original rubber eye cups (these are normally missing).  Some slight wear to the screw heads as shown.  Focus adjustment still works 100% correctly!  Slight wear due to the age, but nothing that detracts!  An AMAZING example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!!!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
