Description
Stored with the cannon (inside the vehicle/tank or with the regular repair/adjustment tools), the Luftanschluß was used to test air pressure of the recoil system. This was a standard tool box loaded in the Panzer III/IV/V; Sd.Kfz. 251/9 and Sd.Kfz. 250/8 “Stummel”, for use with the KwK 37, KwK40, and KwK42. Was also used with the PaK40 , and other field artillery.
Made of steel, aluminum, and wood, and used to test the recoil pressure, this box is an AMAZING example! 100% COMPLETE, it contains two pressure gauges, as well as all the parts and accessories needed. Featuring the 3-digit code “dvn”, and dates between 1941 and 1945! The lettering, “Luftanschuss” is still painted on the lid. Lots of Waffenamts throughout, as well as a couple Finnish Inspection marks on one of the Pressure Gauges. Some obvious wear, marks, and scratches due to the age, but nothing that detracts. Could be cleaned up quite easily for display! EXCEPTIONALLY RARE in this condition, it would be a PERFECT addition to any collection or restoration project! Please email me if you need additional photos or information. ——————- PAYMENT —————– Payment should be made within 7 business days at the end of the auction unless buyer contacts me for other arrangements. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft. ——————- COPYRIGHT —————– All pictures and descriptions used in my auctions under COPYRIGHT and I forbid the use of these photos and information in any manner such as paper or electronic (internet) publications or otherwise.
