Description
You are bidding on an EXTREMELY RARE and BOXED example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Panzer Zündgerät Cannon Firing Button (5 D 73 940), as used in almost every Tank and Tank Destroyer!
This dynamo switch, when pressed, would fire the main cannons mounted inside the tank or armoured vehicle. It was usually located at the side of the main gun, for easy access to the gunner. it was installed as either an emergency firing button (in-case the electrical system failed), or the main firing button. Used on the Tiger, Panther, StuG, Hetzer, Panzer 3/4, Sd.Kfz. 251/9 (late) and others!
Made of bakelite and steel, this button is in AMAZING unused condition!. Though there are some slight marks and wear from storage, there are NO breaks or damage, and is 100% fully functional! The wiring is 100% intact, and it retains 99% of it’s original finish! Also comes complete in the original box! I have indicated it’s location in the last photos. As these are VERY RARE, most museums and restoration projects have reproductions installed Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
