Description
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis. This SPECIFIC binocular is normally only ever seen as a MONOCULAR, called the Asilola. Though the Asiola comes up from time to time, the Asiolabi is practically unheard of. Only 3 examples are even known to exist. Made of aluminum, brass, and steel by Carl Zeiss Jena, these 24 x 60 power binoculars are in AMAZING used condition! Dating around 1939, the lens bodies retain about 95% of their original, finish, and the aluminum end piece fittings are 100% intact! The focus adjustments still function perfectly on both eye pieces. Optics are VERY CLEAR and in PERFECT alignment! There is one very tiny spot on the left eyepiece. but it did not show up in the photos. The right side is body marked: Asiolabi The Asiolabi has SUPERB optical performance and features a Porro II prism system…and like the Asiola, it has Fraunhofer achromatic lenses with a small air gap between the two lenses. The eye pieces are interchangeable between a 24x and 42x, however, only the 24x are included here. Note that one retaining screw is missing from one of the eye pieces, so it is a tiny bit loose. Th eye width adjustment works smoothly and correctly, as does the focus. Also has a fixed sight mounted on the top and a tripod mount in the center. Slight marks and paint loss throughout. There is one slight dent (see photos). A VERY NICE example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
