Description
This switch box was the main operation which controlled the release and timing of the on-board bombs and rockets. It was mounted to the bottom of the Fw190 instrument panel.
Made of aluminum and steel, this ZSK assembly is in SUPERB condition for it’s age, and is EASILY the BEST I have seen! It retains 95% of it’s original RLM66 cockpit paint, as well as all hand-written electrical labels. All data on the main box is clearly legible on the front, indicating ZSK244 A-2, Fl. 50869. It remains attached to the original mounting bracket, which identifies it (along with the electrical codes) as originating from a Fw190. The upper horizontally mounted box was to indicate the release of the wing-mounted rockets (if installed). Though there are some marks, scratches, and dirt build-up due to the age, it is still a SOLID example! The switch on the main unit is still functional (though stiff) and it sounds like there is some dirt internally, so it probably needs a bit of a cleaning. I have indicated it’s location on in the Fw190 D9 cockpit in the last photo. Removed from a war-time Fw190 fighter, it is an EXTRAORDINARILY rare item, and would make for a SUPERB centerpiece! An EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display or restoration project!
