Description
These actuation rods were located on the lower left side of the Me109 instrument panel. Connected to the main landing gear hydraulic unit, they acted as the MAIN mechanism and function for the extension and retraction of the main landing gear. They were labeled, “Flug” and “Lundung” for easy identification to the pilot. Made of aluminum and steel these control rods are EXTREMELY RARE pieces, and never found on the market. They are in slightly used condition, and as such, do feature some light marks, scratches, and wear. Both rods are perfectly straight, and come complete with the individual knobs marked, “Flug”, and “Landung”. Though you occasionally see broken handles from wrecks, this is one of the ONLY set I have seen complete. The recessed threads on the opposite sides are a bit dirty, and would need to be cleaned up. The arm that is attached to the upper arm connects to the Me109 starter handle, and acts as a safety mechanism. I have indicated their location in the last photo. An EXTRAORDINARILY hard to find set, this would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project. |
