Description
Usually mounted at the Navigator’s position, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as the standard Blind Flying Navigation clock for most bombers.
Made of aluminum with a bakelite bezel, this clock is an EXCELLENT example. Obtained directly from author Dr. Konrad Knirim, this EXACT clock is featured on page 324 of his book titled, “Military Timepieces”. There is minimal scratching on the glass, and in overall SUPERB condition. There is some scratching around the edges and signs of wear/use, but it still retains much of it’s original paint and finish! Data plate still remains on the reverse, clearly indicating model, type, and manufacture. Also has a NICE BAL stamp on the inside. This is the ONLY example of this type I have seen in the last 20 years, making it EXTREMELY RARE! As you can see in the photos, there is some corrosion, which is from storage humidity. As such, the rotating bezel is currently frozen. This would need to be freed in order to rotate correctly. Otherwise, 100% FUNCTIONAL, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any Luftwaffe collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!
