You are bidding on an EXCELLENT and VERY RARE example of a WW2 USAAF 827th Bombardment Squadron Flight Jacket Patch!

The 827th Bombardment Squadron was assigned to the 484th Bombardment Group at Casablanca Airport, French Morocco.  The squadron was first activated as the 41st Bombardment Squadron as the United States expanded its military following the outbreak of World War II.  Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the squadron performed antisubmarine warfare missions off the Atlantic coast of the United States, and was re-designated as the 5th Antisubmarine Squadron.
After the Army Air Forces antisubmarine mission was transferred to the Navy, the squadron acted as the cadre for a new Consolidated B-24 Liberator group as the 827th Bombardment Squadron. It served in combat in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, earning two Distinguished Unit Citations for operations over Germany and Austria. Following V-E Day it operated with Air Transport Command in returning American troops to the United States.
During WW2 they flew the B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, and A-29 Hudson.

Made of stamped and painted leather, this item is in SUPERB used condition!  Removed from an A-2 Flight Jacket, all colors are bright.  A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
