Description
The US Army Air Force torpedo director reflector sight Type B-2, was an illuminating sight which helped the bombardier align and lead the target vessel prior to the release of the torpedo by the aircraft. Widely used on the Martin B-26 Marauder, Douglas A-26, and other bomber aircraft!
Made of aluminum, steel, and glass, and dating around 1944, this is an AMAZING used example. Though there are some scratches and wear from use and age, it retains 95% of it’s original finish! All the glass is original to this sight, and the data plate is 100% intact, and clearly indicates the model and type. A bit of dust and dirt from storage, but that can easily be rectified by the winning bidder. it is missing the flip-down polaroid filter, but those come up by themselves on occasion. The AMAZING feature is that is till retiains the original electrical plug and bulb, which is VERY hard to find! 100% FUNNTIONAL, it would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display, or simply as a conversation piece!
