Description
An aircraft turn and bank gauge, also called a “turn and slip indicator,” is a flight instrument that tells a pilot the rate at which the aircraft is turning (using a needle) and whether the turn is coordinated, meaning if the aircraft is slipping or skidding during the turn, indicated by a small ball within a tube that moves based on the aircraft’s attitude relative to the turn; essentially, it shows both the rate of turn and the quality of the turn coordination.
Made of aluminum and steel by Pioneer, this Turn/Bank Gauge is in SUPERB used condition! As it was used during the war, there are some slight marks and wear due to the age, but nothing that detracts. Retains 95% of its original paint and finish, and is EASILY identifiable, due to its shape and structure! Still retains the original instrument panel screws. This was removed from an aircraft wreck in 1945 by a US Serviceman. I will provide more information to the wining bidder. I have indicated its location in the last photos. A VERY NICE item that would be an EXCELLENT item for any collection, display, or restoration project!
