WW2 US Captured Japanese Type 91 100mm Howitzer- RARE!

1 in stock

You are bidding on a 100% original photo of a Japanese Type 38 75mm field Gun from my collection.

This auction features an 100% guaranteed pre-1945 photo of a wrecked Japanese Type 91 100mm Howitzer with a US Army serviceman standing beside it.  Taken at the Philippines in 1945 (probably from the Battle of Corregidor), it is printed on VELOX paper and there is an ink stamp which reads, “Hammond Photo Service, Meridian, Miss – April 14, 1945”.  Originates from the same album as the other Japanese photos I have on auction.  Due to the small numbers remaining late in the war, very few original photos remain.  Only 3 examples of this gun remain in the world.  It is printed on pre-1945 VELOX Photo Paper and measures approx. 9cm x 9cm.  Guaranteed 100% original.  A SUPERB addition to any collection!

Please email me if you need additional photos or information.

Type 38 is a standard field gun in IJA. At first Type 38 was ordered to Krupp in Germany during the Russo-Japanese War. In order to extend the shooting range, the carriage of Type 38 was modified and the elevation was increased. It was called as “Type 38 Improved”.

Though Type 90 and Type 95 were developed after Type 38, Type 38 has been used until the end of WWII.
