WW2 US Army Aircraft A-11 / AF43 – ELGIN COCKPIT CLOCK – P-40 P-51 – NICE!

Made of brass and steel, this Elgin AF43 Cockpit Clock is in EXCELLENT used condition. It does have some marks, scratches, and wear. Currently non-functional, as the balance staff is broken. The parts are quite common, so it should be an easy repair. The reverse is marked:

The casing itself is quite good, retaining most of its finish, with some slight signs of wear, but nothing that detracts. The ODD feature is the dial. I have insected the dial, and this is EXACTLY how it was made (I thought it may have been a label placed over top of the original). Not sure if this was something that Elgin converted post-war, or something wartime. Selling for parts or repair, it would make an EXCELLENTaddition to any collection or display!
