Description
During World War II, Waltham, Bulova, and Elgin produced a variety of time pieces to support the war effort. These particular 8 day clocks were used in the cockpits of B-17s and B-29s. Named the A-11, they matched the name of the accompanying wrist watches also used by pilots of the time. Made of brass and steel, this Elgin 8-day Cockpit Clock is in EXCELLENT used condition. It does have some marks, scratches, and wear, however, it is 100% FUNCTIONAL! A US Serviceman inscribed his name and date on the back, indicating: Sgt. Gunn

I suspect this was done while prepping for D-Day. Retains most of its finish, with some slight signs of wear, but nothing that detracts. Would make an EXCELLent addition to any collection or display!
