Description
The ShVAK Cannon was a 20 mm autocannon used by the Soviet Union during World War II. It was designed by Boris Shpitalniy and Semyon Vladimirov and entered production in 1936. ShVAK were installed in many models of Soviet aircraft. The TNSh was a version of the gun produced for light tanks (Russian: ТНШ: Tankovyi Nudel’man-Shpitalnyi). ShVAK shares the name with its 12.7 mm heavy machine gun predecessor.
Made of brass and steel, this is a FANTASTIC piece of history! Completely inert, there are some very slight wear and marks, however it remains VERY SOLID! The markings are still VERY strong throughout, with a head stamp indicating “179” and a date of 1941. Features a copper driving band. EASILY the nicest one I have ever seen, and NOT post-war like most that come up! Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
