Description
You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a WW2 Japanese Navy / Army Aircraft Kagyō Mado (Maintenance Access Hatch)! This original removable aircraft panel provided maintenance access to internal aircraft systems and equipment through a dedicated opening in the airframe.
Japanese military aircraft incorporated numerous removable access panels throughout the wings and fuselage so ground crews could inspect, service, adjust, and repair internal components without removing major structural sections. These openings provided access to systems such as controls, hydraulic equipment, electrical components, fuel and oil plumbing, and other service points depending on the aircraft type and location. The period Japanese marking Sagyō Mado translates naturally as “service access hatch” or “maintenance access opening,” identifying the panel by its maintenance function rather than by a specific internal system.
Made of aircraft-grade aluminum, this original Japanese aircraft access hatch is in EXCELLENT used condition! There are NO major bends, cracks, repairs, or corrosion…and it remains completely intact and retains its full perimeter mounting-hole pattern! The exterior retains 98% of its original painted finish with normal scratches, staining, surface wear, and age-related discoloration consistent with wartime aircraft use and decades of storage. There are prominent period Japanese Kanji identification markings indicating:

(Maintenance Access Hatch)
Because the exact aircraft type has not been conclusively identified, I have deliberately not attributed the hatch to one specific Japanese fighter or bomber. Everything present is 100% ORIGINAL wartime Japanese manufacture. An EXTREMELY RARE surviving piece of Japanese aircraft structure and a PERFECT display item for any advanced Imperial Japanese Army or Navy aviation, aircraft weapons, restoration, or WW2 Japanese collection!
