Description
You are bidding on a VERY RARE and 100% ORIGINAL WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy Type 93 Tamaya Navigational Sextant! This was used in various ships and transports! Brought back by a US Veteran.
The Japanese Navy Sextant was used by crew members for long range map calculations. It provided accurate reading, using sidereal (star) navigation.
Made of aluminum, brass, and steel by Tamaya, this is a VERY NICE and RARE Type 93 Navigational Sextant! Some very slight marks and scratches, but nothing that takes away from the overall appearance. 100% COMPLETE, it is mechanically functional, however, I have not tested it electrically. All glass in intact, with no chips or damage. The optics on the sighting monocular are foggy, and the focus adjustment slips…however this could be rectified by the winning bidder (I also have an additional one with near perfect optics in another listing, if the winning bidder is interested). All manufacture marking remain, and it is dated 1945! Comes complete in the original woodbox, along with the original adjustment tool and eyepiece filter. Brought back by a US veteran serving in the Pacific, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, or display!
