Description
Similar to the German Luftwaffe Sitzfallschirm, Model 30 IS 24 (Fl. 30231), this Japanese version is designated the Type
M
easuring approximately 16″ x 13″ x 6″ in size, it is fitted with a standard rip-cord handle, secured via a press-studded leather pouch…as well as has a short cotton braided suspension cord that exits the center of the underside of the pack. In normal use the pack would be stored in the aircraft and only attached when needed by clipping the connector on the harness to the loop on the end of the pack’s suspension cord. All bungee cords are present, however much of the original elasticity has suffered (this is normal, due to the age). Features as clear manufacturer tag, as well as a secondary tag tied to the carrying handle. Main tag has Kanji writing, and translates to, “Parachute Must Be Folded Once Every Month“. It is complete with Rip Cord; Carabiner; Silk Canopy; and all Rigging Lines. It has never been unpacked since 1945, so though I have not opened it, everything will be 100% complete internally.
The AMAZING feature is that it still retains the original data/log card! Date indicated is January 23, 1944, which would have been the original packing date. The serial number is also present. Though it is missing the main harness, it is otherwise 100% complete!
