WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft – MODEL 3 AIRSPEED INDICATOR – A6M D4Y B7A

This instrument measured the current airspeed by the use of air pressure.  It was located on the main instrument panel of the  Mitsubishi A6M Zero, Mitsubishi J2M1, and others!  

Made of aluminum and bakelite, this instrument is in AMAZING unused condition! Brought back by a US Serviceman during the war, it still retains 99% of it’s original finish, with NO major marks or scratches! Features a mid-war Type 4 riveted data plate, clearly stating the model, manufacture, production number. Dial still glows when UV light is applied, and still appears to be functional! Factory sealed at the rear, this is EASILY the nicest one I have seen in my 25 years of collecting! I have indicated it’s location in the last photos. Like most Japanese instruments, this item is VERY RARE and would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
