Description
You are bidding on an AMAZING example of a veteran acquired WW2 Imperial Japanese Army EM/NCO Canteen and Carrier!
The Japanese Army Canteen differed from the Navy version, as it featured a painted body and wood/cork stopper (Navy version featured an unpainted aluminum body and aluminum cap). Officers and enlisted men carried the same type. Kanji numbers and names are sometimes found written on the outer canvas covers.
Issued to troops of the Imperial Japanese Army, this canteen is in VERY NICE condition for its age. Though it features some slight wear and marks, there is no corrosion or damage! Kanji characters are painted onto the side and bottom, as well as stitched into the carrier directly (probably the soldier’s name). There is very little wear, and the colors are still bright! No damage to the carrier straps, however the leather is a bit dry. Some markings on the strap, but a bit faint. Original cap is also still present! Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
