Description
This instrument measured the current altitude by the use of air pressure. It was located on the main instrument panel of the Nakajima Ki-84, Kawasaki Ki-100, Kawasaki Ki-102, Tachikawa Ki-92, and Tachikawa Ki106!
Made of aluminum, this AMAZING piece is of late war manufacture, and was taken from a downed Japanese Fighter by a US Serviceman after the war. It still retains 95% of it’s original finish, and the adjustment (millibar) knob functions 100% correctly! It features a late war aluminum data plate at the reversef. The dial still glows when UV light is applied, and is EASILY the best one I have seen of this type! Similar to the Type 97 Altimeter, this is the later rare version, termed as the “Model 3”. Like most Japanese instruments, this item is VERY rare and would be a FANTASTIC addition to any Japanese Instrument Collection!
