WW2 German Wehrmacht ZT. Z. F. SPBU 37 Zünder – PIONEER TIMER – VERY NICE!

Powered by a 5-mintue clockwork mechanical delay fuse, the ZT.ZF. SPU 37 has a bakelite case containing a spring-loaded striker actuated by a clockwork mechanism. There is a winding post for setting the delay period. The dial marked in increments, for the number of minutes. It can be set for any number of minutes up to 5.

 At the end of the delay period, determined by the setting, a lever arm on the rotating control disk on the clockwork bears against the trip lever, disengaging the head of the striker shaft. The released striker fires the percussion cap, the detonator and the main charge. 

Made of bakelite and steel, aluminum, and bakelite, this Mechanical Fuse set was manufactured between 1943 and 1945, and is in EXCELLENT unused condition!  There is some slight wear, scratches, and marks, but it is very solid otherwise, and retains 98% of it’s original finish!  Features some FANTASTIC markings. Comes complete with the original key for winding and setting the time. 100% FUNCTIONAL, the RARE features is that is still retains the original phenolic cap that retains the key. Almost ALWAYS these a missing! One chip to the bakelite, as indicated in the photos. A VERY NICE and HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER item, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
