WW2 German Wehrmacht W.M. 35 Winkelmesser 35 – Artillery Clinometer UNIT MARKED

Description

You are bidding on a VERY NICE and BOXED example of a WW2 German Army Winkelmesser 35 (Artillery Field Clinometer), as used by various cannon and artillery units!

The W.M.35 Clinometer was used to raise the barrels of heavy artillery guns (commonly, the 10.5cm Field Howitzer) to the right inclination to hit the target.  When used for ranging it would be set to the required quadrant elevation then fastened to the gun muzzle which was then raised. The setting of the elevation or the reading of the inclination was very accurate as this was a very long scale round the moving barrel.  This type originated in WW1 and were used right up until the end of WW2.

Made of brass, aluminum, and steel by “beg” (not sure of manufacture), this Clinometer is in SUPERB condition for it’s age!  There are some marks and staining, but features NO damage or corrosion!  100% functional, it comes complete in the original case, but is missing the adjustment key.  The AMAZING fetaure is that “2.kp” (2 Company) is hand painted on both the outside and inside.  A PERFECT item for any collection or display!
