Description
The Torn E.b. was first brought into service in 1935/36 and was used extensively with the German Wehrmacht, Signals, Police, and Administration Divisions. After the war it became extremely popular with collectors and used frequently within amateur radio stations and broadcasts throughout Europe.
The Torn E.B. is an adjustable, one frequency( t.r.f.) radio with four filaments, driven by a 2 volt battery at 0.2 A. each. Therefore the whole radio consumed approx. 0.8 A. of the battery.
The anode current could come from a 90 V. dry battery and was possible to generate the 2 V with the use of a vibrator unit. The vibrator unit was usually located on the lower board of the bottom cabinet. It could also be used with the current from a 12 volt car battery also in conjunction with the vibrating unit.
The set covers the frequency band 100-6970 kHz in eight ranges. The actual coverage of each sub-band is as follows:

( Band 4) 541-977kHz
( Band 5 ) 958-1720 kHz
( Band 6 ) 1685-3030 kHz
( Band 7 ) 2940-4760 kHz
( Band 8 ) 4420-6970 kHz
Made of aluminum, wood, and steel, this Torn EB radio Zubehörkasten is in EXCELLENT used condition! Though there are some marks, scratches, dents and wear, it still retains 80% of it’s original paint! It is fairly complete internally, however I have not tested it for electrical functionality. Some of the connection tabs need to be re-attached to the wiring. Brought back by a US veteran (along with the Torn E.b. Radio I have in another listing), he has inscribed his name into the top. Note that the box is not as “blue” as the photos suggest. A SUPERB item for any collection or display!
