Description
You are bidding on a NICE example of a 100% original WW2 German Wehrmacht / Luftwaffe Ukw.E.e VHF Panzer Radio Receiver! This was used in various Tanks, Tank Destroyers, and Armored Cars! This SPECIFIC example was converted for post-war use.
The radio receiver UKw.E.e is a superheterodyne Ultra Short Wave radio used in many vehicles. Part of the complete FuG 5 radio system, it was used in the Sd.Kfz.101, Sd.Kfz.141, Sd.Kfz.141/1, Sd.Kfz.141/2, Sd.Kfz.142, 10.5 cm K18 auf Panzer-Selbstfahrlafette, Kugelblitz, Wirbelwind, Flakpanzer IV, Sd.Kfz.171, Sd.Kfz.267, Sd.Kfz. 269, Sd.Kfz.173, Sd.Skf.173/1, Sd.Kfz.181, Sd.Skf.267/268, Sd.Sfk.166, Sd.Sfk.166/1, Sd.Sfk.184, Sd.Sfk.251/3.
Yellow marked equipment = “Gelbstrich”- Gerate: intended for intercom modification.
Used to communicate between tanks and other vehicles, this radio is in GOOD used condition! Made by Telefunken, it does feature some slight marks, corrosion, and wear, but nothing that detracts. SOme knobs have been replaced (one is also missing), but it all appears to be complete internally. Mechanically functional, however, I do not know if it is electrically functional. As such, I am selling this “as-is”. Various manufacture marks throughout! The outer lid/cover is missing (common), but those do come up by themselves quite frequently, so it should be easy to replace. As mentioned this was converted post-war, so I am not sure how accurate or complete it is versus the original wartime variant. I have indicated its location in the last photos (Panzer III). Would be a PERFECT addition to any collection or restoration project!
