Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB relic example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Steel Kettenglied (Track Link), as ONLY used on the Henschell 33 and Krupp L3H163 Trucks and their variants! Used when travelling in muddy or winter conditions, these attached directly around the rear wheels, to convert the truck into a half-track. Though I do not have any specific history, it was originally found in the area of the Kurland Pocket.
The Henschel 33 and Krupp L3H163 were widely used German 3-axle cargo truck, that were produced in many variants. The most numerous of all the 3-tonne trucks produced, they were in production between 1934 and 1942. Utilizing a Kfz.72 van body, the could be used as a radio truck with powerful transmitters and receivers.
Made of solid manganese-nickel steel, this 305mm Panther Tank Track Link is in AMAZING relic condition! Though it does have some pitting, it is one of the NICEST I have seen in a while, and is VERY solid (probably usable). No damage, breaks, or bends, and the manufacture stamps are also clearly cast into the front. It is approx. 12″ long, I have shown the exact track type in the last photos. Appears to unused (was probably mounted as a spare track), it should look AMAZING once cleaned! Would make a PERFECT item for any collection or display!
